I just had an interview, and I was so nervous, why is it interviews are like that?!?!? I am just terrible at them and completely freeze, but I got the job and start tomorrow, so a little bit crazy, I have spent the day running around getting my documents for them, proof of address, proof to work etc though I was hoping to just crash in front of the tv on my last day of freedom 🙂

This week is a fun self-portrait multiplicity shot that I did in New Zealand, it was sooo windy I was scared my camera would fly away, and so cloudy that the sky is bland, I didn’t have my tripod as I had taken a little drive and a bit of a walk to find this place with a view of the Banks Peninsula, multiplicity is something I want to get more into as well as levitation for a bit of creative fun so will see how it all goes, I will have to juggle it now with my new job but at the same time it will be nice to have some money again!

I have had a busy weekend at the movies, so much to see at the moment, we started the weekend off by going to Life of Pi on the friday night which was fantastic (in 3D), Saturday we saw Django Unchained and the Impossible, then Sunday was Les Miserables followed by the football. I was at Greenwich just after they finished filming Les Miserables and with my iphone managed to get a couple of shots of the set being pulled down…

It snowed all weekend, and my plan of staying in didn’t really work, most of the schools in London are closed today and the temperature still isn’t above 0 degrees, i’m feeling very lazy and never got out into ‘central london’ to get any photos mainly because I knew the tubes weren’t running and it would take me hours to get in and out again.

Also today is Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year so i’m just going to stay in, with the heater on and see what else I can get done instead!

Happy Blue Monday everyone!

Midnight in NZ, Lake Tekapo

ah Winter is here and its been snowing the last few days, I am so glad to be inside with the heater going 🙂 it’s not settling though so thats a shame, but its still freezing!

This photo is midnight on a full moon, and a long exposure making the moon turn into a big sunflare on Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, normally when taking pictures of the moon you need to take a separate shot of the moon as well with different settings and then put them together on the computer.

Have a good week everyone 🙂

Queenstown New Zealand

Christmas night in Queenstown New Zealand

I missed New Years as I was flying back from New Zealand to England, in theory I should have had lots of New Years (as I stopped in NZ, Australia, Bangkok, Dubai and England) but instead I didn’t have any, I didn’t think I would mind but it turns out I do.

I have been busy trying to decide on a photography project for this year, i’m going to put all the thief of my photos behind me and start a new year fresh, happy and motivated, so I have finally decided just in time to still be within the first week of 2013!

I’m going to do a Weekly Creative Photography Project and to start week 1 and because I’ve just got back from 6 weeks in NZ, I’ve got a photo from Queenstown, New Zealand a Long Exposure at Twilight on Christmas Day (you may need to click on it to see it properly).

I have had a very busy year last year, getting married twice (don’t worry it was to the same guy!) next week I’ll post a wedding photo, the photographer in New Zealand did a great job at getting some creative shots of us, which as a photographer I appreciated, but unfortunately because I was the bride I didn’t get to take many shots myself, gutted! I guess it’s the one time when I need to just chill and let someone else be in control.

I love New Zealand the photo opportunities there are endless, we made it into Milford Sound but the weather was not on our side, I wouldn’t have minded if the weather was awful but it was just bland, white sky with nothing but complete cloud cover, it did not make for pretty photos, still while I was there we went to Arrowtown, Queenstown, Kaikoura, Pancake Rocks, Hamner Springs, Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook, Akaroa, French Farm, Arthus Pass, Christchurch among others, so I’m sure somewhere amongst my thousands of photos there will be photos to post.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Years to everyone out there, I am a little late but better late than never and I hope 2013 brings you all you dream of!

Around the world we go and today we are in Kaikoura Whale Watching

Getting to know G better days are normally Fridays but I was still in Bruges mode yesterday so uploaded a photo of Bruges instead! and with today being the last day of the year, it’s probably a little more appropriate to be about me today as we look back and reflect on the year 2011!

and what a crazy year it has been!

For me the biggest thing this year has to be the earthquakes back home in Christchurch, New Zealand and watching all my friends and family lose everything.

and of course there was the Japan Earthquakes and Turkey’s earthquakes, the flooding and mudslides in Brazil, flooding in Thailand, Pakistan, and the Philippines all resulting in loss of life’s and considerable damage.

Osama Bin Laden was killed, as well as Muammar Gaddafi.

There were lots of bombings and loss of life’s, and the Royal Marriage which I managed to avoid!

and lastly the US formally declares an end to the Iraq War…

The positive part of 2011 for me was leaving my full-time employment  and working full-time on my Photography, and I was lucky enough to get a book published on to Amazon Kindle before the year was out, and of course all the places I travelled to this year as mentioned yesterday.

So of 2011 my most popular photo has to be Istanbul a Moment as it made it into Picture Correct’s Top 10 Photos of 2011

My most popular photo on Flickr and Facebook this year has to be Tower Bridge Light Trails

Here is my first self-portrait I did in my hallway this year which was a success, though probably more thanks to the bottle of wine I was drinking at the time than anything else!

Happy New Years!

Being Boxing Day and being on the other side of the world from my family for Christmas here is a lovely photo of New Zealand, Moeraki Boulders to let you all know I’m thinking of you all x

“The Moeraki Boulders are unusually large and spherical boulders lying along a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the wave cut Otago coast of New Zealand

My heart goes out to everyone back home, the latest earthquakes have been going on for over a year (Since September 2010) and have caused considerable damage, loss of lives and heart ache, I feel so hopeless being on the other side of the world but I want you to all know, I’m thinking of you, stay safe x

Normally Fridays are getting to know me better and in-light of the recent earthquakes in Christchurch, New Zealand over night and because that is my home town, I’m going to make today’s about Christchurch, well Canterbury really the province in which Christchurch is in.

and as it just so happened last week, I was out taking photos in London and I was walking along a road that I hadn’t been on before leading to Trafalgar Square and I saw a plaque on a building, so I stopped to read it (as you do, because London is such an interesting city) and the Plague read:

“Canterbury Province of New Zealand In March 1948 on this site formerly 41 Charing Cross, the Canterbury association met and planned the settlement of the province founded on the 16 of December 1850 by english settlers let by John Robert Goodley”

So I had to take a photo.

Christchurch is very special to me, it’s where I was born, where I grew up, where my family is so I need you to be safe Christchurch and stop with the earthquakes already! they have been going on far to long…

A little bit different today, since I am from New Zealand I thought it was time for some New Zealand love!

These gorgeous sleepy seals are just hanging out in Kaikoura where you can walk right up to them, but be careful not to get too close as they will let you know!

This was done in a HDR style making it look all dreamy.

Thinking of you all back home x
