Malta has the cutest colourful fishing boats, but they were surprisingly hard to get a photo of!

This is just before it pours down, which makes me very unhappy since I love to take photos at night and we are leaving the following day, and I also left my umbrella back in the hotel! There was only one thing for it, and that was to find the nearest pub and have a local beer!
See it all works out in the end! 😉
Wow the weather is going crazy in London today, a couple of hours ago we had a crazy hail storm that blew in, followed by snow and now a hour later its sunny and no clouds in the sky! Weird!
and this was the sunset from our balcony last night:
You can just see the London eye in the left hand corner, heres a close up of the red cloud:
So it’s the 2nd day of 2012 already! and my Dad’s Birthday! Happy Birthday DAD! not that he reads this! 🙂
Christchurch has been kept awake all night with earthquakes, the biggest being 5.5 at 5.45am, they are predicting a 7.0 to hit soon, which would be awful considering 181 people died when a 6.3 hit! So fingers crossed they have got this wrong and nothing happens!
In the mean time here is the lovely view from our Hotel in Sorrento, looking out over Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius, which we climbed on our last day:
Happy New Years Everyone!!!
Hope 2012 brings everyone everything they desire!
I hope you all don’t have as sore heads as I do today! Had a little bit of a house party for New Years and my head is still hurting from it!
So I’m not going to say much today because it hurts to do so 😉 so on to the photo instead:
HDR of the Houses of Parliament
Getting to know G better days are normally Fridays but I was still in Bruges mode yesterday so uploaded a photo of Bruges instead! and with today being the last day of the year, it’s probably a little more appropriate to be about me today as we look back and reflect on the year 2011!
and what a crazy year it has been!
For me the biggest thing this year has to be the earthquakes back home in Christchurch, New Zealand and watching all my friends and family lose everything.
and of course there was the Japan Earthquakes and Turkey’s earthquakes, the flooding and mudslides in Brazil, flooding in Thailand, Pakistan, and the Philippines all resulting in loss of life’s and considerable damage.
Osama Bin Laden was killed, as well as Muammar Gaddafi.
There were lots of bombings and loss of life’s, and the Royal Marriage which I managed to avoid!
and lastly the US formally declares an end to the Iraq War…
The positive part of 2011 for me was leaving my full-time employment and working full-time on my Photography, and I was lucky enough to get a book published on to Amazon Kindle before the year was out, and of course all the places I travelled to this year as mentioned yesterday.
So of 2011 my most popular photo has to be Istanbul a Moment as it made it into Picture Correct’s Top 10 Photos of 2011
My most popular photo on Flickr and Facebook this year has to be Tower Bridge Light Trails
Here is my first self-portrait I did in my hallway this year which was a success, though probably more thanks to the bottle of wine I was drinking at the time than anything else!
Well Cheers to the End of 2011 and Lets Bring on 2012!
Good luck to Everyone..
May 2012 be everything you hope it will be and bring you everything you wish and desire….
Thank you for your support in 2011 and lets see what we can achieve in 2012!
Happy New Years!
ah just had a lovely couple of days in Bruges with my partner for his birthday, we took the Eurostar over which is such a nice way to travel, especially as we ended up with First Class seats on the way home, the weather was cold and wet though and Bruges was full of people but we had a wicked time all the same, its such a lovely pretty town.
That will have to be the last trip of the year, and certainly for a long while, while I knuckle down and get some work done, this year I have been lucky enough to go to Bruges, Berlin, Malta, Gozo, Alicante, Sorrento, Positano, Capri, New Zealand (Christchurch, French Farm, Akaroa, Kaikoura, Queenstown, Arrowtown) Gran Canaria, Cotswolds, Stratford-on-Avon, and Bath so I have been very lucky indeed!
