Malta has the cutest colourful fishing boats, but they were surprisingly hard to get a photo of!

Malta Fishing Boat

Night Falls on Gozo, Malta

Frustratingly just as I was taking this photo a team of rugby guys decided to strip off, run in front, and jump in the water and have a swim!

Must say my friend enjoyed it but I was focused on getting a photo, especially as the light was fading fast and this was the only night to get a photo, as we were off back to mainland Malta the next morning.

So I have had to do a bit of photoshoping to get rid of some of the bodies, I shot it with a long exposure to get rid of most of the people swimming but the ones that stayed still needed to be photoshoped out!

But on a side note! Can you believe it’s Christmas Eve!  Hope everyone is having a lovely one with friends or family x

I’m finally feeling a bit better after getting sick in Malta and being ill for almost a month, so I am finally starting to edit my photos from Malta, London and Alicante and am off to Sorrento and Berlin soon so will have more to edit soon!

My Calendar is coming along slowly, (i know i’m running out of time!) just so much to do! and I have another exciting product in the process that should be finished within the month, that i’m very excited about, I’m so busy i’m getting up at 2am and working through to 6am as I’m so excited I can’t sleep, so I can’t wait to be able to reveal everything soon!

Also as my weekly update from the world of Photography this week my favourite piece of news is…

The Self Esteem Act: Parents Pushing to Pass Anti-Photoshop Laws in the US

A Lancome advertisement featuring Julia Roberts caused a stir back in July after it was banned by the UK for being too “Photoshopped”. Now a couple in the US are trying to bring stricter regulation to the United States. Seth and Eva Matlins, founders of Off Our Chests, have started the Self Esteem Act:

We’re asking for support to pass federal legislation requiring advertising and editorial that’s meaningfully changed the human form through photoshopping or airbrushing to carry “Truth in Advertising” labels. The labels will simply state that the models shown have been altered. No judgments, no morality, just clarity.

[…] Photoshopping, airbrushing, digital manipulation isn’t the issue. The issue is too many look at these images and theink they should look LIKE these images. And they can’t…because they’re not real.

So let’s call a duck a duck and modified picture a modified picture. All we’re asking is that if you do it – you tell us you did.

They’re currently trying to raise 10,000 signatures for the petition, which can be signed here.

Until next time….
